Our bodies naturally change with age and these changes can appear on our faces in the form of wrinkles, sagging skin, and even changes in our expression. As the facial tissues become thinner, wrinkles settle around the nose and mouth and the cheeks look a bit “hollow”.
And while aging is one of the most normal processes, many want to influence it by slowing it down as much as possible. If you want to look young and beautiful regardless of your age, if you want to enjoy thick and beautiful skin, if you want to receive compliments for your appearance, dermal fillers are here to help. Dermal fillers can replace lost volume and help smooth wrinkles. They can make your lips look fuller, and restore your youthful appearance. Here’s what you need to know about them:
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected under the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, and soften wrinkles or improve facial contours. More than 1 million men and women a year have chosen this popular facial rejuvenation treatment, which can be a cost-effective way to look younger without surgery.
How can dermal fillers change my appearance?
While dermal fillers are carelessly known as “wrinkle fillers”, they can do much more than just smooth out wrinkles! Here are some of the most common problems that dermal fillers can deal with:
– Smoothes wrinkles around the nose and mouth;
– Improve and restore the volume of sunken cheeks or temples;
– The vertical lines of the lips are reduced;
– Give density and contour to the lips;
– Improve the shape of the chin;
– Improve the symmetry of facial features.

Types of fillers according to where they are placed
Fillers in nasolabial folds
The deep wrinkles that connect the corners of the lips to the nose, called nasolabial folds, appear after the age of 30 and deepen over time. In this procedure, with the help of a thin needle, a filler is injected directly into the wrinkles themselves, as well as into the surrounding tissues. The filler, which is a thick gel, spreads in the fold, filling it from the inside.
Lip fillers
This is a procedure in which hyaluronic acid is injected into the lips and the areas around them. The goal is hydration, firming, rejuvenation, and complete refreshment of the lips! The effect of the procedure is immediate! Immediately after creating volume, the patient sees the change. The best results are observed after the swelling subsides, about 3-4 days after the procedure. The effect is determined by the patient’s lifestyle, daily activity, sports, fluid intake, as well as the activity of an enzyme in the body that breaks down hyaluronic acid. Ефектът се обуславя от начина на живот на пациента, неговата активност в ежеднвевието, спорт, приема на течности, както и от активността на ензим в организма, който разгражда хиалуроновата киселина. The effect of the filler is usually about 9 -12 months.
Fillers for non-surgical rhinoplasty
In this procedure, correction of the nasal relief, removal of small asymmetries, and a slight change in shape are the main goals. Unlike operative rhinoplasty, the procedure is performed relatively quickly and has a short recovery period. It is not necessary to use general anesthesia, local anesthesia is sufficient. The procedure has no lasting effect, ie. after a while it needs to be done again, and accordingly, you can choose another way to change the shape of the nose.
What to expect during the procedure?
Dermal fillers are usually performed during a visit to a dermatologist’s office, as they are minimally invasive. Initially, you will begin with a consultation, during which you will meet with a specialist to discuss your goals and ask questions if necessary.
Immediately before the procedure, the area will be cleaned and you may be given a local anesthetic. Many fillers also contain lidocaine, a mild anesthetic that aims to help minimize discomfort during and after treatment. Your therapist will then inject the right amount of filler strategically under the skin.
Depending on the product and the areas treated, you should be able to notice results immediately after the injection. Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling, but they are temporary and should go away in the days after the procedure. You will be able to return to your normal activities immediately, but your therapist may ask you to take a day off from exercise or other strenuous activities.
